Hiring the services of a professional geologist can be a complicated
process. This brochure will help you determine when the services of
a professional geologist are required and help you avoid hiring an
unlicensed individual.
A professional geologist must have obtained certain educational
credentials, have at least five years of qualifying geologic
experience, and pass a licensing examination administered by the
Board of Professional Geologists.
Professional geologists are instrumental in the conservation and
protection of our environment, activities which result in the
protection of the public health and welfare.

current professional geologist's license and/or the Certification of

Engineering Firm, be sure the engineers are also licensed
geologists.
Always arrange payment though a contract or other legal means. Be
sure the final product you receive is properly signed and sealed by
the licensed professional author.
